QUILTS FOR VETERANS
The Salisbury-Rowan Quilters' Guild loves its mission to provide quilts to combat veterans, some of whom meet on the same day as our guild does, at the Rufty Holmes Senior Center Center in Salisbury, NC.
We also provide provide quilts to veterans at the VA Hospital Hospice and Palliative Care Units. Quilts must be approximately 50” X 60” or larger and of patriotic colors, or colors that coordinate with a patriotic panel used in the quilt. These quilts are placed on the beds of veterans in the hospital. Over the past two years we have provided almost 75 quilts. Several of our members donate their time and long arm services to accomplish this mission. Monetary donations as well as cotton fabric and batting are accepted for this program.
